Kia Ora, for this activity you had to make a submarine using pen and paper, Google Drawings, or online coloring. I decided to make my submarine on Google Drawings, I used polylines and mostly curved lines and circles, finishing up with some colors and a background.

How do submarines go deeper? and How it gets back up to the surface of the water?.  The submarine goes deeper because, the ballast tanks fill up with water, so the submarine is heavier than it looks. It gets back up to the surface by closing the ballast tank so there is no water inside and that is how they get back up.

  1. Kia Ora Te Naera,

This is Zana from the SLJ commenting team, I am loving all your posts this summer and hope to see you finish this last week strong.

I know I say it every time but… what an awesome activity!! I am a big war history nerd so I love to teach and learn about different submarines. My favourite is the Nuclear-powered attack submarines because of their interesting design.

You did an awesome job with this activity, you introduced it well, included some interesting facts and I like the drawing you have made as it is very detailed. What would you use your submarine for? Ocean exploration, travel or something else?

    Thanks,
    Zana Yates

  3. Hi there Te Naera ki ! That is so cool how you used poly line and circles to make a submarine and its also really cool how instead of putting just a submarine there and calling it a day you decided to put some extra effort and put in some gold fish and a treasure chest and its also awesome how you put how a submarine works in the text i think it would be a little better if you put some more description but anyways i think this is a pretty good blog keep up the good work
